Smoked Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot of Espresso or 1 cup of strong brewed Coffee
  • 1 oz Coffee Liqueur (e.g., Kahlúa)
  • 1 oz Whiskey (or your preferred spirit)
  • Wood chips for smoking (e.g., oak, applewood, hickory)
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Smoke Finale Cocktail Smoker
  • Glass or mug
  • Ice (optional)
  • Garnish (e.g., coffee beans, orange twist)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cocktail Smoker

    • Follow the manufacturer's instructions to set it up. Alternatively, you can use a smoker box or a handheld culinary torch with wood chips.
  2. Prep the Glass:

    • Choose a glass or mug for your cocktail. If you want to serve the cocktail cold, add ice cubes to the glass. The smoky effect works well with both hot and cold drinks.
  3. Brew the Coffee:

    • Prepare a shot of espresso or brew a cup of strong coffee using your preferred method. If making espresso, use an espresso machine. If making coffee, use a French press, pour-over, or any other method you prefer.
  4. Prepare the Cocktail:

    • In a cocktail shaker, combine the brewed coffee, coffee liqueur, and whiskey (or your chosen spirit). Shake the mixture to combine the flavors.
  5. Smoke the Cocktail:

    • Using our cocktail smoker, place the cocktail shaker on a flat surface. Insert the smoking tube from the device into the shaker, and ignite the wood chips. Allow the smoke to fill the shaker.
  6. Infuse the Cocktail:

    • Once the shaker is filled with smoke, carefully remove the smoking tube and quickly seal the shaker with its lid. Allow the cocktail to infuse with the smoke for about 20-30 seconds.
  7. Pour the Cocktail:

    • Open the shaker and strain the smoked cocktail into the prepared glass or mug.
  8. Garnish:

    • Add a garnish of your choice, such as coffee beans, an orange twist, or a twist of citrus peel, to enhance the aroma and presentation.
  9. Enjoy:

    • Sip and savor your delicious smoked cocktail coffee. The smoky flavors should mingle beautifully with the rich coffee and spirits.

Remember to exercise caution when working with fire and smoke. The goal is to infuse the drink with smoky aromas without overpowering it. Adjust the quantity of wood chips based on your preference for smokiness. Enjoy your smoked cocktail coffee responsibly!
