Smoked margarita

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz Agave nectar (adjust to taste)
  • 0.5 oz Triple sec or orange liqueur
  • Wood chips for smoking (e.g., apple, hickory)
  • Smoking device or smoker box
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Rocks glass
  • Lime wheel or wedge (for garnish)
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Smoke Finale Cocktail Smoker:

    • Set up your smoking device following the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Prep the Rocks Glass:

    • If desired, rim the rim of the rocks glass with salt. You can also leave it plain if you prefer.
  3. Prepare the Cocktail:

    • In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, and triple sec.
  4. Shake the Margarita:

    • Add ice to the cocktail shaker and shake the mixture vigorously to chill and mix the ingredients.
  5. Smoke the Glass:

    • Place wood chips in the smoking device and ignite them. Allow the glass to fill with smoke, then cover it with a coaster or lid to trap the smoke.
  6. Strain the Margarita:

    • Carefully remove the coaster from the smoked glass to release the trapped smoke. Strain the shaken margarita mixture into the smoked glass.
  7. Garnish:

    • Garnish the smoked margarita with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim of the glass for both visual appeal and a burst of citrus aroma.
  8. Sip and Enjoy:

    • Savor your smoked margarita, allowing the smoky and zesty flavors to dance on your palate.
  9. Adjust and Experiment:

    • The smokiness level can vary based on your preference. Start with a shorter smoking time and adjust as needed.
  10. Variations:

    • Experiment with different wood chip varieties for unique smoky profiles. You can also consider using smoked salt for rimming the glass.

Remember to be cautious when working with open flames and wood chips. The goal is to add a layer of smokiness to the margarita without overpowering its classic flavors. Enjoy your smoked margarita responsibly!
